Donated museum leaflet helps raise match funding cash

Released: Tuesday, 18th January 2005

To ensure success in getting the lottery cash the Museum had to raise a proportion of the total cost itself. The decision was made to put together a leaflet, explaining what the North Street premises provides, outlining plans for the future and inviting individuals and businesses large and small to make a donation.

In the past Quiet Storm Solutions had designed documents and displays for the popular venue, so Museum Trust Chairman Kenneth Hillier contacted us to ask if we would give some of the images that had been used previously for use on their planned "home-made" leaflet.

But we have done much better than that – offering to design a leaflet free of charge, and to print hundreds of copies for the Museum using our in-house digital facilities.

The Trustees were thrilled with the donation. "Quiet Storm's contribution has given us a tremendous start, to be able to send something out that looks totally professional and very eye-catching makes such a difference to us," Kenneth said.

QS Director Phil Megson added: "We were delighted to be able to help Ashby Museum in its work to offer even more services to schools, historians and those with an interest in Ashby's past and future. We are sure that the leaflet will encourage others to make donations."
