Lincoln Business Awards raises profile and standards

Business Link Lincolnshire was looking to add some extra sparkle to its annual Business Awards event for 2004 and contacted Quiet Storm for help

"One area that we wanted to improve was the audio-visual presentation," says Frances MacKereth of the organising team.

In the past stills photography had been used, but for this year's event Quiet Storm helped Business Link create a PowerPoint presentation complete with video footage. We also supplied technicians to ensure it all ran smoothly on the night.

Quiet Storm's event management skills also came in useful in helping organise the programme for the presentation evening, at which former athlete and celebrated motivational speaker Kriss Akabusi MBE was guest of honour.

Pre-planning the layout of the venue was made more difficult than usual as the event was staged in a marquee. Although plans had been drawn, Quiet Storm was able to suggest improvements when the marquee was actually erected.

The key question is, did the guests attending the ceremony notice?

"We have had really positive feedback," Frances said. "People have taken the time to write to say how much they enjoyed it.

"For us, the organisers, using Quiet Storm was a very positive experience. We felt we were in safe hands and it gave us a new-found confidence," Frances concluded.
