Local town market gets branding makeover to raise profile

LOUGHBOROUGH'S markets have always been and remain an important part of the town's identity - but the Borough Council that manages them felt they were in need of an uplift this year.

Released: Wednesday, 1st May 2002

Town Centre Manager Simon Todd approached Quiet Storm for help with branding - and the result is a series of bright new logos for both the twice-weekly regular market and for the farmers market, held on the second Wednesday of each month.

"We were looking for a brighter, sexier image to remind people what our fantastic markets have to offer.," Simon said.

"And from a practical point of view we needed something which could be reproduced across a range of mediums. Although we have so far only used the logos on banners it is our intention to reproduce them on everything from stationery to backboards for the stalls.

"We discussed our needs with Quiet Storm and made a few suggestions and they provided us with exactly what we were looking for. Both Charnwood Borough Council and the traders are very pleased."

In addition to the logos for the markets Quiet Storm Solutions has also created a bright look for town centre banners this year drawing attention to Loughborough's Britain in Bloom bid.

The town was awarded third place in the Large Town category of the competition
