Mail Blast a success from day one for tour operator

Medinland specialise in holidays to the Mediterranean and Egypt. With a customer database exceeding 37,000 names, e-marketing has proved to be an extremely cost effective promotion method.

Mail Blast by Quiet Storm allows you to send high volumes of individual emails to your contact list and track the response to campaigns. It records the total messages sent, how many were opened and also manages opt-out requests. Email newsletters deliver all the benefits of traditional print newsletters but at a fraction of the cost. They are one of the cheapest lead generation tools available.

Medlinland, part of the Co-operative Group, initially used Mail Blast for monthly newsletters promoting the budget holidays featured on its Search Travel Online website before increasing to a weekly communication.

Daniel Eyre, Medinland’s Online Manager explains: “We operate in a very competitive, price driven market. We felt we need to push our product and Mail Blast has proved to be an extremely cost effective way to do it. We decided to run an ongoing email campaign that started with a monthly newsletter. We found Mail Blast so easy to use that we now send the newsletter out weekly.

“Quiet Storm designed an e-newsletter template to our specification and we simply insert our own copy each week. This approach has been successful for us from day one and has been a great way of driving traffic to our site - we see a spike in web traffic following each newsletter mailing. It enables us to keep banging at our customers’ door’ and keeps us relevant and in people’s minds.

“The software package includes useful statistics to help us evaluate the success of our campaign. We can see when each email has been opened and we also get a breakdown of recipients who regularly open the email quickly. These form our core customers and we can then target them with more specific and relevant offers.”
