Micro site created for firm branching out to new market

Released: Monday, 10th November 2008

When Mansfield based design and manufacturing company Ansini took over the production of plastic tree guards, Managing Director Bruce Allman asked Quiet Storm to create a new brand identity that he could use in a simple marketing campaign.

Ansini had purchased the assets of a small plastics company producing spiral tree guards used to protect saplings and small trees from damage by wildlife. The plastic spirals, available in clear, brown or green finishes are sold in 40mm and 50mm diameter tube sizes and expand with the natural growth of the tree.

The manufacturing equipment was moved to Ansini’s premises in Nottinghamshire and Bruce looked for a cost effective way to inform customers of the change in ownership as well as take new orders and enquiries. The solution was simple - a three page internet micro site.

Quiet Storm designed a new logo for the product using a leaf and spiral motif in two colours, registered the domain name and set up the website consisting of a home page, enquiry form and contact details. The Spiral Tree Guard brand now has a professional platform from which sales can be generated and the content of the pages can be modified as and when Ansini requires. This is done via the easy ‘self-edit toolbar’ provided by Quiet Storm.

The effective and clear design of the web page has also been transferred to a roller banner display stand for use at exhibitions and used as the basis for a display advertisement.

Bruce Allman said: “Once the logo had been agreed it was a simple process to get the website up and running and design the advert. These have now been successfully working hand in hand to generate sales. The roller banner was used to promote the Spiral Tree Guard at the Forestry Commission’s show in September, helping us project a professional image. The Quiet Storm team are all great to work with, they have been proactive and led the project throughout. They met my brief quickly and efficiently and delivered exactly what I needed.”
