Website generates additional revenue as new members sign up to support charity

Released: Tuesday, 1st April 2003

More members, more volunteers and more visitors are being attracted by The Wildlife Trusts' two websites following a major revamping by Quiet Storm Solutions.

New facilities include a species and habitats database, providing a browser-friendly way of finding out about wildlife and where to find it; an on-line membership and donation facility; and the ability to use diaries to find events and places to visit.

Quiet Storm has created four Watch characters for the children's site including Badger, which is based on the Trusts' logo.

Other innovations for this site include a Wildlife diary, featuring a seasonal back garden with various species requiring identification, access to species database and information about 'best environmental practice'.

The garden and its associated information will change four times yearly according to the season.

Wildlife Trusts Development Officer Avril Rawson said: "I think Quiet Storm has done a fantastic job in helping us develop www.wildlifetrusts.org and I'm convinced that any child will be delighted with the abundance of animation and interactivity that is a distinct feature of their new site.

"All in all, I think we've come up with a splendid website that will meet the needs of anyone who is even vaguely interested in protecting wildlife."
