Promoting your website in everything you do plus a little extra

Every piece of marketing literature, packaging, stationery, business cards, etc, should feature your web address - this goes without saying. However, there are many, many ways to promote your website off line but they should all fall within your overall marketing strategy.

Even totally web based businesses advertise off line, using TV commercials, billboard campaigns, advertising and public relations to promote their products and services - it's all about getting the right balance and measuring the results.

The ways in which you can promote your website off line are almost limitless but here are a few examples of what we have done for some of our clients:

Newsletters - features promoting links to specific web pages on the clients' website where more information may be found on that particular article. This could be technical diagrams, a full case study or white paper.

Adverts - when advertising space is at a premium it makes perfect sense to feature a link to a specific page which features additional information about the product and service the advert is offering. You could even feature it as a free report on the advert.

The added benefit of using the above two examples is that it also provides you with a measure on the effectiveness of the advert or publication - or at least how interested your target audience is in that feature or product.

Competitions, customer surveys, etc - where you ask customers to provide you with their opinion on whatever in return for which you will enter them into a prize draw.

The added benefit of using the above examples is that it also provides you with valuable feedback.

Make an area of your website that is dedicated to adding value to your existing customers. - This could be, for example, order tracking, order placement, data sheets, or installation instructions.

The added benefit of using the above examples is that you may find that it provides other benefits such as reduced overheads or provides you with an added unique perceived benefit over your competitor.
