The PDF generator can extract information from the web based page and format it to a pre-defined specification.

This may include the use of corporate graphics, fonts, logos, etc. The resolution of the final page can be optional and should reflect the final application, i.e. Web download - small, high resolution print - large. Content pages which have the PDF generator set up can be previewed online when text and picture changes are made to the web page by an authorised web editor.

The PDF can include information which does not feature within the web page i.e. address and contact details, graphical masthead or logo, ‘author’ details etc. The PDF may be set up to include download details, i.e. if, in order to receive information, a visitor to a web page is asked to register their details before the information can be downloaded. Information from the registration screens may be used to watermark the page (lightly print behind the main body of information).This would ensure that the source of information and the person responsible for its download were visible on any PDF distributed.
