News

The news module enables any authorised web editor to quickly add, amend and delete a news item. New items can default to automatically appear within a ‘ticker tape’ area on the home page (or any other specified). After a pre-defined period all news stories are automatically transferred to a news archive directory.

News can include announcements of contracts won, new products or services offered, exhibitions where you are exhibiting together with stand details, etc.

News stories should be added at least every two weeks to demonstrate to regular visitors that your site is regularly updated - this will encourage repeat visits. The frequency of updates also has a positive affect on search engine rankings, so news is a good way to achieve this, as it is unlikely your products and/or services will change on such a regular basis.

The news section can be created so that when a new news story is added it automatically appears within a ‘News Ticker’ on the home page. If it is felt that there is not sufficient news generated to warrant a new section within the main menu structure then the news module should appear within the ‘About us’ section of the website.
